Club Paradise is made up of school friends Ryan Young (vocals/guitar), Jackson Vert (lead guitar), Harry Webb (bass) and Nathan Hogg (drums). They have been together for over a decade and it shows in that they have a tight sound/decent production values.

The EP features six tracks, of which four – ‘Chasing the Summer’, ‘Years’ & ‘What if these Days’ &‘Runaways’ – have been released on digital services ahead of the EP’s release. The EP itself will adds two more songs, ‘Interstate’ and ‘Let Me Lose’.

‘What if these Days’ has a sterling guitar solo and kicks some bottom. ‘Years’ is one for BBC 6 Music, a perfect indie pop earworm, as is ‘Chasing the Summer’. The latter is one for any summer time playlist.

‘Runaways’ adds a bit of guitar grit to the proceedings featuring another strong chorus. Neat bit of guitar on here too.

‘Let Me Lose’ is an odd one with an 80s synth pop feel, slightly at odds with the rest of the EP but it still fits in. It is almost West Coast AOR – until the heavy ending!

Loving the EP closer ‘Interstate’ with its layered harmonies and big drum & guitar sound. Perfect way to end the EP.

Club Paradise have an interesting sound, mixing indie pop rock and guitar/synth heavy verses which is very addictive even after a couple of plays. Club Paradise have that certain musical magic that acts need to succeed and now all they need is Lady Luck to help them achieve a wider audience. Check ’em out. ****
