In my mind, when I think of underground metal, I think of Germany. Many great bands have hailed from Germany, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and the mighty Rammstein to name a few. And I believe Peace of Mind will be no Exception.
Straight off the bat it’s HEAVY. Not for most I will admit. But I’m partial to something heavier and I would say my taste in music is eclectic. However, for those who love the heavier side. You are in for one hell of a treat!
It’s loud, proud, underground and very reminiscent of rage against the machine.
Sending a message with melodic angst.
I through the battering drums and lightning riffs are messages. Messages of power, messages of self love, messages of being unapologetically who you are and coming together as a unit to fight against injustice and fighting to live in a world where it’s ok to be you and just exist freely.
This is one heck of a powerhouse. The bass is dropped, the drum pedals and doubled and the guitar work is out of this world. The vocals are gritty and raw and there’s this energy that is just simply electric. I’m pulled into this world where you are just completely immersed in the sound.
Is it something that will take the mainstream by storm? Unfortunately not. But as something presented for the rock and hardcore lovers then this is an album I would definitely check out. ***1/2
