Single review: ROSS HARDING REVELATOR BLUES

Ross Harding

Facebook

Man this is my kind of blues, you can keep your note bending, face grimacing, guitar histrionics, give me an acoustic guitar, a whisky soaked emotive voice, a kick drum and references to hellhounds, storms, prophets and god and I’m a happy man.

There is a lot of good blues coming out of South Africa at the moment and Ross Harding has just been added to the list of serious contenders. Hailing from Johannesburg but living in the UK Ross is as at home with both the acoustic blues of the single as he is with full on electric blues with his band The Dark Hearts.

This single, released on 14th September is taken from the album Blood and Blues released on 14th November, I hope I get a chance to review that.

Ross is playing various dates in the UK in September November and January 2026, if you are a fan of Robert Johnson, Son House or Keb Mo, his acoustic set is a must. If you are a fan of Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa, Slash or Myles Kennedy, then his Dark Hearts show is a must.

For all serious blues fans, put Ross Harding on your radar, buy the single and the album, and get out to see him, you will not be disappointed, he might even do some face grimacing.

If you are young, and wanting to explore the blues, Ross would be a good intro to a lifetime of devotion of that genre Check this single out immediately.
