Saxon frontman Biff Byford chooses the music in Get Ready to ROCK! Radio’s ‘Favourite Tracks from Favourite Artists’ sequence. He chats to GRTR!’s David Randall about the band’s progress and his influences.
Saxon’s UK tour starts on 30 November, celebrating 35 years since the release of their debut album.
Also this weekend, on Sunday 30 November (21:00), as part of the occasional ‘In Session’ series, pop rockers The Dowling Poole play three exclusive tracks recorded on their recent UK tour.
And in the Pete Feenstra Feature (19:00), Pete chats to the legendary blues producer Mike Vernon who worked with John Mayall (including Eric Clapton), Fleetwood Mac and Chichen Shack in the sixties and more recently has produced Dani Wilde and Oli Brown.
Selected shows are now uploaded to a Mixcloud page to give listeners a chance to listen on demand.
On Sunday 28 July 2019, David Randall celebrated his 600th show. “Assume The Position” started in June 2007 on UK City Radio before transferring a year later to Get Ready to ROCK! Radio. The show includes tracks played on the first show plus Upton Blues Festival highlights, new music and the regular features “Live Legends” and “Anniversary Rock” which this week celebrates the Island Records label 60th anniversary.
