EP review: BULLETPROOF ROSE – Loud Hard Fast

Bulletproof Rose

Self Release  [Release date 27.04.15]

If you are looking for some real feel good rock you could do a lot worse than to spin the debut EP, ‘Loud Hard Fast’, by Cumbrian rock band, Bullletproof Rose. Not the most original music perhaps but played well with loads of enthusiasm.

Influenced by Airbourne, Motley Crue and AC/DC amongst others, ‘Loud Hard Fast’ is four excellent old school chunks of rock. Bursting into life with the autonomous track, ‘Bulletproof Rose’ the EP fairly rattles along.

Track two, ‘Gypsy’, begins with a riff lifted straight from Twisted Sister’s ‘Shoot ‘em Down’, not a bad thing. Over the course of the next three tracks you can visualise Airbourne leaping around the stage, hopefully these boys can put on just as amusing a show.

All in all a very good EP, nothing groundbreaking but sometimes it is good to hear something familiar played well by an up and coming band.  ***1/2
