Gig review: TOBY JEPSON – Online, Thursday April 23 2020

In these strange and unsettling times one part of the music we love that has been hit hard is that of live music. Currently venues are closed and artists are off the road, many tours and gigs have been postponed or cancelled outright. However, now many artists are adapting and taking to online streaming for their live shows.

One such artist is Wayward Sons and former Little Angels vocalist Toby Jepson. He hosts a weekly Digital Busker session each Thursday night from 8.15pm. So far each of these has had a theme to it, whereby fans can request songs from a particular album or rarer tracks from Little Angels EPs and B-sides. The show below took place on 23 April, themed ‘Little Angels – The Best of the Rest’ and can be watched again here Facebook gig link

Today on the Toby Jepson live stream was bits and bobs with requests from the fan base and then Toby decided on the nine songs to play for tonight. Another great show tonight, he really does embrace these live shows.

More Q & A and I liked the fact that the Little Angels played the Royal Albert Hall for their final show and set a record for attendance, which wouldn’t happen or be beaten now as there was extra seating back then. Another great hour and next week (30 April) covers played by the Little Angels.

Also Toby Jepson mentioned on the show there was going to be some podcasts and one of the first guests would be Ricky Warwick.
