Single review: SHARON LAZIBYRD – Quand je vois le Monde

Sharon Lazibyrd as been on the GRTR! musical radar for some years now and it was a pleasant surprise to receive an advance listen to this song, ‘Quand je vois le Monde’, the second single from her upcoming album ‘Tides Keep Turning’. This second album follows a period of illness where Sharon was unable to sing for months – “ I am so happy that I am finally able to make this second album”.

The song features Sharon on violin and vocals, with Damon Bridge (accordion, piano and drums), Jeannette Owen (clarinet) and Charlotte Worthy-Jarvis (bass).

‘Quand je Vois le Monde’ (translates as When I see the World0 is a song for our times, being a neat summary of where we are now with corrupt leaders, nationalism, fake news etc. That maybe a tad depressing as a subject matter, however, the jaunty piano, violin, clarinet and accordion playing lift the musical mood! A little bit music hall and traditional folk in feel, and a song you will soon have on repeat.

A song that hits the spot and further proof that Sharon Lazibyrd is an artist worthy of your attention. ****
