AOR Blvd Records 2012 www.aorblvdrecords.co.uk
David Saylor some may remember from Push UK, who those lovely folk at AOR Blvd released an album from them a couple of years ago. Mind you don’t go expecting melodic hard rock like Push played, instead this is one glorious AOR ride. From the opening title track with its lush keys and string vocals from Mr Saylor you know you’re onto a good thing. Moving ballads? This album has them, none more stronger than ‘Hands To Heaven’, again plenty of keys and impassioned vocals.
‘Give It All’ reminds me of 80′s plinky plonk keyboard led bands like Go West, great stuff. ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ features a duet with Suzie Ashby, both vocalists combine well on this tale of love on the rocks. ‘Mystery Girl’ is a rare chance for some guitar crunch and with a chorus FM would be glad to have written.
The sound and production on this album is top notch and easily holds its own amongst bigger budget AOR albums.
