THIN LIZZY re-issues

Thin Lizzy – Nightlife & Fighting reissues (Universal)

“Nightlife” and “Fighting” were the fourth and fifth albums recorded by the great Thin Lizzy, originally released in 1974 and 1975, respectively.  Universal has given them the deluxe treatment…

“Nightlife” showcases the funkier side of Phil Lynott and the boys, although it is the first album featured two guitarists in Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson (although Gary Moore did the guitar on “Still in love with you”).  The bonus disc features a number of live tracks recorded at the BBC, as well as three demoes recorded with Gary Moore and unreleased alternate versions of “Still in love with you” and “Showdown”.

“Fighting” is a harder, more vicious rocking album, which began to bring out their signature sound of the twin guitar melodies.  This was the groundwork on which “Jailbreak” was laid a year later.  The second disc is jam-packed with 15 songs, consisting of live tracks, unreleased demoes (some without vocals) and alternate takes.

With a good remastering job and the bonus disc of material on each, this is a must-have for Lizzy fans!
