GUITAR WORLD presents DEAR GUITAR HERO

Backbeat Books 2012 www.backbeatbooks.com

This book is based on the ‘Dear Guitar hero..’ section of ‘Guitar World’ magazine where fans ask their guitar heroes questions, from technical set-up ones through to more ‘Smash Hits’ type questions about favourite foods.

There are over fifty guitarists covered from all decades with Jeff Beck, Dave Grohl and Leslie West providing some of the most interesting answers. Some diplomatic answers as well, such as when Slash is asked about Axl Rose or Ritchie Blackmore when asked about how Yngwie Malmsteem – he provides a diplomatic response bar a slight dig at Yngwie’s dress sense!

A great little book to dip into. For budding guitar heroes enough technical information on guitar rig set-ups etc. to keep them interested. Music fans will enjoy reading about their favourite guitarists and the enjoyable rock ‘n’ roll tales some have to tell. If successful this is a series that could run and run, particularly as it covers the many genres of rock and metal.
