Mighty Music (Release date – 28.01.13)
Raw, in-your-face rock ‘n’ roll is the order of the day from these Norwegian rockers. Aventyr have been around since 2001, although they did hang up their guitars for a few years. They are back though and this is their first album following on from an EP release back in 2011.
Of the original line up, only two remain following the band’s hiatus, guitarist Steinar Aven and vocalist Roger Olsen. The guys undoubtedly take their cues from the Hellacopters and The Backyard Babies playing sleazy rock ‘n’ roll licks with plenty of attitude. There are ten tracks on the disc and all are brimming with chunky riffs, great melodies and excellent playing throughout.
‘Driven’ appears to be an apt title with all tracks motoring along at a fast pace. In fact the title track is one of the best along with ’Empty Bottles’ both of which are classic slabs of straightforward rock as it should be played.
It may not be the most inventive album in the world but it does what it sets out to do and that is to rock your world, hard!
