ALASTOR – Out Of Anger

Metal Mind Records (Release date – out now)

Polish thrashers, Alastor, have become something of a legend in their home country. Formed back in 1986 the band have had a mixed career, releasing four well received  albums . The band underwent a line up change in 2010 and this album is the first result from this change.

As you would expect from a band that have been together for 26 years Alastor know how to rock hard and heavy. This album though sounds fresh and up to date whilst retaining the elements of early thrash. The best comparison I can draw is with Machine Head, but in a more simplistic and straight forward form.

There are some outstanding tracks on the album, ‘Crawling’ and the brutal title track ‘Out Of Anger (In Your Face) ‘ being two of the best. One of the changes to the line up in 2010 was the departure of vocalist Robert Stankiewicz who was replaced by Mish Jarski who takes on all tracks with consummate ease, he has a great thrash voice with a hard edge.

It has been seven years since the band’s last release, but this album should see the guys re-establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with. The legend lives on…
