Stax legend Steve Cropper heads out on the road again in October/November as special guest of Animals and Friends.
Following their critically-acclaimed and hugely successful tours together in 2008, 2011 and 2012 this legendary combination of musicians will once again be performing on the same stage together.
Animals & Friends feature original members John Steel and Mick Gallagher together with Danny Handley and Scott Whitley.
Cropper was a member of the Stax house band from the early-1960s, achieved worldwide success with Booker T & The MGs, and pursued a parallel career as A & R man/producer/composer for some of the best-known soul acts such as Otis Redding, Eddie Floyd and Wilson Pickett. In the late-1970s he teamed up with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd to form the Blues Brothers Band, recording three albums and a movie.
On Sunday 2 November, at 17:00 Get Ready to ROCK! Radio features a recent interview with Steve Cropper chatting about his career in the “Heroes” series.
