News: MAGGIE BELL, KEVIN GODLEY interview features – Sunday 23 August 2015

Maggie Bell

On Sunday 23 August, Get Ready to ROCK! Radio chats to two influential artists, but with widely differing musical styles.

Maggie Bell has been described as “the UK’s Janis Joplin’ and she lent her gritty, soulful vocal to influential blues rockers Stone The Crows in the early-1970s.

In September, that band’s first two albums are reissued by Angel Air Records and in an hour special Maggie chats about that period of her career and her subsequent solo history.  (16:00 GMT).

Kevin Godley

Kevin Godley was a founder member of 10cc who had great success throughout the seventies and perhaps best known for their worldwide hit ‘I’m Not In Love’ in 1975.

In the 1990s, Kevin pursued a parallel career making music videos for artists such as Bryan Adams and U2  together with Lol Creme with whom he also fashioned several albums.  More recently he published his first novel ‘Spacecake’.

Kevin discusses his career with Pete Feenstra (19:00 GMT).

Get Ready to ROCK! Radio was set up in 2008 and aims to reflect the wide musical content at www.getreadytorock.com.  The station broadcasts for 18 hours a day and regularly showcases artists with special features and in-depth interviews.

The station is available via the Tunein phone app, on many internet radio sets, and also via iTunes as well as via the dedicated website.
