Eagle Vision [Release date 26.08.16 ]
There are not many bands out there that can match KISS when it comes to the sheer theatrics and live spectacle the band put on, even after a career of 43 years. With a solid, albeit opinion dividing line up- I for one am not entirely comfortable with Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer wearing the make-up and costumes so much associated with original (and greatly missed) members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley- even though drummer Singer has now spent more time in the KISS family then they have.
Recorded in 2014, during the bands 9 concert run in Las Vegas, new CD/DVD “KISS Rocks Vegas” features an impressive stage set and a set list that is nothing short of immense. With the likes of rarely played songs like “Creatures of The Night”, “War Machine”, “Parasite” and a great version of “Tears Are Falling” sitting alongside live staples such as “Detroit Rock City”, “Love Gun”, “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Lick it Up”- played here to include a bit of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.
Not only do you get the CD and DVD of the show, but boy do those lovely people at Eagle really know how to please music fans as they once again hit the nail right on the head as we also get a 7 track acoustic set. Filmed in front of fans and out of make-up, this short set includes even more rare gems including “Goin’ Blind”, “Hard Luck Woman”, “Comin’ Home” and “Love Her All I Can”.
The CD/DVD package was produced by guitarist Tommy Thayer and is a guaranteed fan pleaser- it looks and sounds great and the show is exactly what you would expect from KISS. *****
