Get Ready to ROCK! has published its annual photographic review of the year.
The website’s gig reviews feature a wide range of activity from heaving stadia to less populated village halls.
Says Reviews Editor Jason Ritchie: “As with our end of year Best of 2019 promotion, the selection of photos reflects the industry and endeavours of our review team over a twelve month period.”
Managing Editor David Randall added: “In the selection of twelve photos we try and be as inclusive as possible featuring at least one from each photographer and using comments from most reviewers. We hope the selection sums up their sustained enterprise over the year.”
Among those artists featured this year, upcoming blues rocker Kris Barras and melodic hard rock band Collateral nominated by the team as Breakthrough Act of 2019 and with a debut album due in early 2020. Alongside big hitters like Rammstein and Whitesnake. The latter will take to the road again for a UK arena tour in May 2020.
Get Ready to ROCK! continues to be strong on festival coverage, starting in late May with the Bearded Theory event in Derbyshire and including Download, Ramblin’ Man Fair and the now established summer events of Steelhouse and Stonedeaf (which in 2020 becomes Stonedead). Most are featured in this year’s selection.
Live Editor Dave Wilson is responsible for the coordination of all gigs and is already filling up the spreadsheet for the coming year.
In 2019 melodic rock expert Andy Nathan deserves special mention for his review coverage which has taken in several continents including gigs in the States, Scandinavia and Germany.
David Randall adds: “Andy’s band and genre knowledge is second to none and he easily communicates his enthusiasm and affection whilst never losing his critical faculty when appropriate. His sterling work, and that of the rest of our team, has kept Get Ready to ROCK! at the forefront of quality rock music media and the reviews are all highly visible in Google and shared in social media.”
