Dragged Under were formed from by former members of Rest, Repose in 2019. In just a few short years they have released their debut album (last year) and had a number of line-up changes. The band’s current line-up consists of Ryan “Fluff” Bruce (lead guitar, vocals), Anthony Cappocchi (vocals), Kalen Anderson (drums), Hans Hessburg (bass, vocals) and Sean Rosario (rhythm guitar, vocals).
The release is composed of tracks from the band’s 2020 debut album, ‘The World Is In Your Way’, and the band have already shared a stream of ‘Hypochondria’ from the EP.
To be honest a strange release to be found on Mascot, a label more known for blues and rock releases, as Dragged Under are one of the lovers of punk fuelled hardcore. ‘Just Like Me’ sounded like early Anthrax, whilst ‘Instability’ is a rebel rouser of a tune, heavy on the riffs and vocals. ‘Hypochondria’ is a touch more modern metal with Cappocchi’s vocals high in the mix.
I am assuming by live this EP was recorded in one take as there is no crowd noise. The youngsters will like this, possibly not that many over forty will though! ***
