Blood Of The Spectre – Blood Of The Spectre

Hampshire 5 piece, Blood Of The Spectre, are a noisy bunch. They combine ultra heavy grindcore riffage with gruff vocals and some impressive technical guitar work. Knocking at the door of Killswitch Engage and Sylosis this EP is not for the faint of heart.

‘Darkened Majesty’ opens the proceedings and sets about melting your features from the off. The two guitarists in the band, Rich and Dom, certainly have a busy shift and by the sound of things they are paid by the note, fitting in blistering fret board action wherever they can. Other tracks to keep a bleeding ear out for are ‘ Lexical Gap’ and the album closer ‘End Era’.

This album won’t appeal to those of a sensitive nature, but if you like to browse the Extreme Metal section of your local HMV, then this lot might well be your bag.
