Eleven Seven Music (Release Date – out now)
Before I tackled this review I read another review in the printed media with the strap line ‘Buckcherry – The Best Of.., this will be brief then…’ which was a harsh statement. There is a general misconception surrounding Buckcherry that they are new kids on the block with one or two big songs, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I often think they get looked upon in the same way as Nickelback, a decent rock outfit but not quite worthy, a guilty pleasure if you like.
Listening through this album you soon realise that over the course of their 15 year career the band have created some fine rock songs that are more than worthy of your attention. Some are more instantly recognisable than others but all are quality songs from a talented band. To most ‘Everything’ ,‘Crazy Bitch’ and ‘All Night Long’ are the tracks that spring to mind when Buckcherry are mentioned. The three tracks are huge anthemic rock songs which are fit to grace any arena, but the others on offer here over the course of the 12 tracks are of equal merit such as ‘Sorry’, ‘Next 2 You’ and ‘Rescue Me’.
This album is a great way to showcase Buckcherry’s story to date. Six albums in the band are still going strong and this only serves to prove that the band has a bright future and well as having a kick ass, rockin’ past.
