Valentine (the melodic rockers featuring Hugo on vocals), have teased on Facebook that new material is due soon.

Joe Bonamassa has released a new song ‘When One Door Opens’.

Arjen Lucassen has announced the release of a new Ayreon album, ‘Transitus’. It will be narrated by Doctor Who legend Tom Baker and will feature vocalists Tommy Karevik (Kamelot), Amanda Somerville (Trillium), Simone Simons (Epica) and Paul Manzi (Arena). Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman is also set to appear on the album.

Jackyl plan to release a live DVD before the end of the year.

Helloween have pushed back the release of their new album to early next year.

The Outfield release a new album ‘Demos & Rare Tracks’ on July 9.

Switchfoot release a six song covers EP on June 19.

Bob Mould releases his latest album ‘Blue Hearts’ on September 25.

Kamelot release a live album, ‘I Am The Empire – Live From The 013′ on August 14 through Napalm Records.

Motley Crue’s drummer Tommy Lee releases his solo album ‘Andro’ on October 16.

Former The Enid singer Joe Payne will release a new album ‘By Name. By Nature’ on August 7.

Paul Weller has moved back the release of his new album ‘On Sunset’ to July 3.

The Waterboys release their new album ‘Good Luck, Seeker’ on Cooking Vinyl on August 31.

John Mitchell has stated via Facebook that ‘The Tall Ships’ by It Bites will be made available for the first time on vinyl, along with re-issues of the It Bites albums on Inside Out. Also a new It Bites album is in the works.

David Gilmour’s new track ‘Yes, I Have Ghosts’ will feature on Polly Samson’s audiobook ‘A Theatre for Dreamers’. This marks Gilmour’s first new music release in five years.

Metallica plan to release ‘S&M2′ this year, which was filmed and recorded with the San Francisco Symphony last year.

Doro has released a new single ‘Brickwall’, with a new album to follow later in the year.

Kevin Godley (10CC, Godley & Creme) will release his first ever solo album ‘Muscle Memory’, which will be released as an album in December. Prior to that every track will be released as a weekly single in the run-up to the album’s release.

Tim Bowness will release his sixth solo recording, ‘Late Night Laments’, on InsideOutMusic on August 28.

Kraftwerk have announced a series of releases on streaming services for July 3 including ’3-D The Catalogue’.

Exodus plan to enter the studio in September to record their next album.

Neal Schon has revealed that Journey are working on a new album now that their summer tour plans have been postponed.

Inglorious have started work on their fourth album.

Bruce Hornsby has announced that his new album ‘Non-Secure Connection’ will be released on August 14.

Dragonforce are well on the way to completing their next album.

Flying Colors release ‘Third Stage: Live In London’ on September 18 through Music Theories Recordings.

Pain Of Salvation release their new album ‘Panther’ on August 28 via Inside Out.

Blue Oyster Cult release their new album ‘The Symbol Remains’ – their first in over twenty years – in October.

Downes Braide Association are currently working on their new album.

The Offspring have completed their latest album, however any release date is on hold due to the current pandemic.

Quireboys - Giants of Rock, Butlins, Minehead, 26 January 2020

The Quireboys (pictured) have announced ‘A Bit Of What You Fancy 30th Anniversary‘ UK tour, with dates in December and February.

Manowar (another band who have completed a ‘farewell’ tour) are back next year with selected European dates to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary.

Dan Reed Network and Reckless Love have announced a joint UK headline tour for March 2021, where they will be joined by Mason Hill.

Live Nation are running a series of drive-in concerts in the UK during August and September. Artists appearing include Gary Numan, Ash, Lightning Seeds and more, across venues including Cheltenham & Newmarket racecourses, the Milton Keynes Bowl and Lincolnshire Showground.

Rock photographer Bob Gruen publishes his memoir ‘Right Place, Right Time: The Life of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographer’ in October through Abrams Press.

Badfinger, who feature sole surviving orginal member Joey Molland, have released a new verison of their song ‘Baby Blue’ featuring Matthew Sweet on vocals.

Abbey Road Studios is open again for recording after being closed for ten weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Drummer Martin ‘Frosty’ Beedle has announced his departure from Lifesigns. His replacement is Zoltan Csörsz who has previously worked with Karmakanic and The Flower Kings.

Rage have parted ways with guitarist Marcos Rodriguez and have replaced him with two new guitarists – Stefan Weber (ex-Axxis) and Jean Bormann (Aneglic, Rage).

Mark Pascal is no longer the vocalist for Cats In Space, who are currently recording their new album ‘Atlantis’.

The Beatles ‘Get Back’ movie has been postponed until next year.

Papa Roach are set to perform their multi-platinum debut album ‘Infest’ on a live HD broadcast on Saturday 20 June.

Jess Holland is the new vocalist for prog rockers Solstice. They have released a demo version of ‘Love Is Coming Down’ from the new album they are currently working on.

The Royal Mail issue 13 different Queen stamps on July 9 to commenorate the band’s fiftieth anniversary.

News - RIP

Steve Priest, bassist and founding member of The Sweet. He took over as the main vocalist with the band when Brian Connolly left in 1979, until the band split-up in 1982. After relocating to the USA he toured his own version of the Sweet in the US.

Producer, songwriter and musician Rupert Hine, who worked with Rush amongst many others.
