Bournemouth based rockers, Skinny Knowledge follow up on their awesome debut album, ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights’ with a new single, ‘I Wonder’.
The single continues the band’s own brand of high energy, alternative rock that delivers attitude and superb musicianship.
The heavy bassline sections is simply sublime and when overlaid with the vocals, just takes the track to a different level. The change of vocal and musical styles is clever, familiar and yet new. The lyrics crafting and vocals are all delivered by Andy Smooth, who is the brainchild and driving force behind Skinny Knowledge. Lyrically, as was the case in the debut album, this is music with a heartfelt message. I’ll confess right now, I absolutely love it!
Skinny Knowledge were my best debut album choice for 2021 and if the release of ‘I Wonder’ as a teaser single is anything to go by, I suspect they’ll be carving themselves out a slot in my 2022 albums of the year choices too. Skinny Knowledge are touring this year, catch them soon – I’ll see you there! *****
