Headliners Sick Of It All are Lou, Pete Koller (guitar), Craig Setari (bass) and Armand Majidi (drums) and have been around the scene since 1986. While having plenty of success they may not be known to many outside of the Hardcore scene as it’s not exactly family-friendly music. This is music from before gigs got stale and oh so PC, there is no photo-pit and crowd surfing and circle pits are a must.

Kicking off with ‘Good Cop/Sound the Alarm’ and ‘Clobbering Time’ there was hardly time to catch your breath as they raced through the two-minute long songs with such energy that was only matched by the brutality of the crowd in the pit. Guitarist Pete Koller spends most of his time jumping skyward as he hammers out the riffs.

This is a band with the power and intensity of Thrash and the anti-establishment attitude of Punk all rolled up into a tight, hard-hitting sub-three minute track. As they powered on through ‘Santuary/DNC’ and ‘Get Bronx’ Lou prompted to the crowd and they separated into two halves. I knew we weren’t in for line dancing.
So as the show brutally battled its way to the end with ‘Road Less Travelled/Scratch The Surface’ and ‘Built To Last’ I felt as bruised and as battered as Pete Koller’s guitar.
