Two Sides Moon/SLW
Morrow’s Memory hail from Detriot, the most rocking of cities. Formed over the course of 6 months in 2009, working through what sounds like most of the musicians in the greater Detroit area before settling on a stable line up. This is the band’s debut album and it looks as though their elongated selection process paid off.
Morrow’s Memory’s sound is billed as alternative progressive hard rock. You can hear the prog influence on several tracks, but there is a definite post grunge sound in there as well, Soil meeting Dream Theater for drinks perhaps with Chad Kroeger pulling the pints? The guys certainly know their way around their chosen instruments and it is all topped off with a good vocal display from Tony Fitchett.
Album Highlights are ‘Let You Down’ and ‘ Hero In The Dark’ which both have great melodies and classic choruses, but all ten track here are well worth a listen.
All in all then, this is a good debut which should give the band a good grounding to build on for the future. As their strapline goes ‘ Morrow’s Memory – Bringing Light….To Dark Places’
